FAQs

1. What is an Ethical Florist?

There is a prominent movement called “Slow Flowers” that was coined by Debra Prizing. Slow Flowers refers to florists using 100% local flowers to execute all of their business. Smells Like Flowers has gone beyond just using 100% local flowers to be conscious of their environmental impact. They do not use any bleached product, dyed product, or floral foam. These exclusions allow them to move forward with a clean conscious, understanding that how we care for the earth also has a social impact. By respecting the earth we are also considering the toxic conditions that farmers have to endure to participate in processes like foliage bleaching.
